Aristo vs 100 Thieves in the IEM Beijing 2026 qualifier

Aristo faced 100 Thieves in the open qualifier for IEM Beijing 2026. The 7:13 match marked the team's first official game against an opponent listed in the HLTV world ranking.

01

The road to the match

On August 23, Aristo began its run in the open qualifier for IEM Beijing 2026. The tournament format meant direct competition for survival in the bracket, with every following round potentially bringing an opponent with significantly more international experience.

After progressing through the earlier stages of the qualifier, Aristo was matched against 100 Thieves. It was the first time since the beginning of the project that we could test ourselves in an official match against a team listed in the HLTV world ranking.

02

An international opponent

100 Thieves was the highest-ranked opponent Aristo had faced up to that point. The team was listed 32nd in the HLTV world ranking at the time, placing the match in a very different context from most of Aristo's previous official games.

For Aristo, however, the match was not simply a novelty or an opportunity to face a more recognizable organization. Regardless of the difference in experience, the objective remained the same: compete and use every opportunity to stay alive in the qualifier.

03

The match against 100 Thieves

The match was played on Mirage. Aristo was unable to produce an upset, with 100 Thieves closing the map with a 13:7 victory.

The six-round margin was enough to end Aristo's qualifier run. The result alone, however, does not fully reflect the significance of the match for a young project that only a few months earlier had been focused primarily on building its own structure and establishing regular competition in ESEA.

04

Aristo performance

Aristo was represented against 100 Thieves by Zajcyk, M3FiU, SereHe, Jelonidas and Wolak, who played as a stand-in. The ranking below shows individual statistics exclusively from this match.

05

A benchmark

The loss ended Aristo's run in the open qualifier, but the match itself became one of the most important benchmarks in the team's history so far. For the first time, we could directly compare our level with a highly ranked international opponent and measure that difference on the server rather than through observation or the results of other teams.

Matches like this carry particular value for a developing organization. They show which elements continue to work under greater pressure, where the largest gaps appear and what the team needs to improve if it wants to compete regularly against opponents of this level in the future.

100 Thieves remains Aristo's first opponent listed in the HLTV world ranking and, at this stage of the organization's history, the highest-ranked team we have faced in an official match.
